Satellite Television

Satellite TV is available free of charge at patients’ bedsides and in public areas. A variety of programming is provided including networks, movies, and Russian, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean language channels.

Telephone Service

Telephone service is available at bedside by arrangement. “Verizon Lifeline” service is available at minimal cost to Medicaid recipients.

Acupuncture & Tai Chi

Acupuncture is a powerful modality that helps strengthen the immune system, prevents disease, controls pain, and increases the ability to function as well as improving his or her quality of life.Woodcrest has pioneered in promoting acupuncture as a complement to conventional medicine in the sub-acute/long-term care setting.

Tai Chi has been described as magical, and it certainly feels it. We have found it effective as a relaxation technique, and it promotes comfort and aids in patients’ recovery.

Tai Chi and Acupuncture are offered as free services to our patients.

Beauty Parlor/ Barber Shop

At Woodcrest, we realize that looking attractive can have a positive impact on the patient’s emotional well-being. We arrange services by a licensed hairdresser who is available weekly on-site in our well-appointed beauty parlor, as well as weekly barber service.
